SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
- A citizen of India/Nepal/Bhutan
- A refugee of Tibet who came to India (before January 01, 1962), and settled in India permanently.
- Nationality
- The person Migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African Countries and has settled in India permanently.
SSC CHSL Age Limit
SSC CHSL demands candidates of the age group between 18-27 years. However, there is a relaxation in age for certain reserved groups as per the rules of the Indian government. The table below shows SSC CHSL 2024 Age Limit according to the different posts:

- The Tier-1 exam consists of multiple-choice questions (objective).
- Language of question paper will be in both the languages Hindi and English
- Candidates will be awarded 2 marks for every correct answer and 0.50 marks will get deducted for every incorrect answer.
- The total score in tier-1 will be 200.
- Candidates will get a maximum of 1 hour to complete the examination.
- Tier I will be qualifying in nature.

- The Tier-II will be held in two sessions - Session –I & Session II, on the same day. Session-I will include conducting Section-I, Section II and Module-I of Section III. Session II will include conducting Module-II of Section III.)
- It will be mandatory for the candidates to qualify for all Tier-II sections.
- Tier II will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions, except for Module II of Section III. The questions will be set in English and Hindi except for Module II (i.e. English Language and Comprehension module) in Section II.
- There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section-I, Section II and Module-I of Section III. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.
- Module-I of Section-III i.e. Computer Knowledge Test is mandatory but qualifying in nature.
- Skill Test/ Typing Test will be of qualifying nature.
- Part A - Skill Test for the post of DEO/ DEO Grade 'A’: ‘Data Entry Speed of 8,000 (Eight Thousand) Key Depressions per hour on Computer’ will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words/ key depressions as per the given passage.
- Part B - Typing Test for other posts i.e. LDC/ JSA: Candidates opting for English medium should have a typing speed of 35 words per minute (w.p.m.) and those opting for Hindi medium should have typing speed of 30 words per minute (w.p.m.). 35 w.p.m. and 30 w.p.m. correspond to about 10500 key depressions per hour and about 9000 key depressions per hour respectively.
