CTET Paper -1 Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
- Minimum age- 17 years
- Maximum age- No Limit
As such, there are no age-limit criteria mentioned in the official notification released by CTET in the previous notification. However, candidates must be in possession of the required CTET educational qualifications to appear in the exam. Teachers who already are in service can also appear in the examination to test their knowledge and skills.
Educational qualification for Paper 1 (Classes 1 to 5): Primary Stage
- Candidates must have cleared or still pursuing the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (with a minimum of 50% marks) from a recognized University/Institution.
- Applicants must have cleared or still pursuing the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (with a minimum of 45% marks) in accordance with the NCTE, Regulations, 2002
- Aspirants must have cleared or still pursuing the final year of 4 years of a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) from a recognized University/Institution (with at least 50% marks).
- Candidates must have cleared or still pursuing the final year of 2 years Diploma in Special Education(with at least 50% marks) from a recognized University/Institution.
- Candidates must have cleared the Graduation (with at least 50% marks) and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from a recognized University/Institution.

CTET Exam Pattern Paper 1
The CTET exam comprises two papers, i.e., Paper 1. Paper 1 will be for the candidates who intend to be a teacher for Classes I to V.

NOTE:
- CTET exam will be held in two stages, i.e., Paper I for Class 1 to 5
- The CTET 2023 exam consists of multiple choice questions (MCQs), with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct.
- The maximum mark for each paper is 150 marks.
- As per the marking scheme, each question carries one mark, and there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers in the exam
